THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

A large, well-established utility and infrastructure organization supporting critical electric distribution, field operations, maintenance, and reliability initiatives.

A highly collaborative work management environment partnering closely with field operations, maintenance, engineering, supervisors, contractors, and other support teams.

A team responsible for coordinating daily and weekly field activities and ensuring crews have the labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits, and documentation needed to successfully complete their work.

An organization with established work management processes, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and structured operating procedures.

An opportunity to play an important role in supporting reliable day-to-day operations as well as emergency and storm restoration activities.

LOCATION

Based in Southern Pines, North Carolina.

Initial schedule is onsite Monday–Friday from 6:30 AM–3:00 PM.

After the first 90 days, the position transitions to a hybrid schedule with Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office and Tuesday and Friday remote.

After-hours and weekend availability is required when supporting emergency and storm restoration efforts.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

Supports the end-to-end execution of operational and maintenance work across assigned facilities and service areas.

Helps create barrier-free job plans by ensuring labor, materials, equipment, tools, permits, and required documentation are available before work reaches the field.

Develops and maintains daily and weekly work plans and schedules based on priorities, available resources, skills, materials, and equipment.

Tracks work orders through execution, identifies potential barriers or delays, and helps resolve or escalate issues that could impact successful completion.

Serves as a key point of coordination between field resources, supervisors, contractors, operations, maintenance, engineering, and support teams.

Uses work management applications to distribute work, schedule resources, update activities, and track work through completion.

Supports materials, inventory, and equipment readiness to help field teams execute work efficiently.

Helps ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with EHS standards, company policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Provides critical emergency and storm restoration support, including dispatching, emergency locates, meter updates, ETOR updates, oil spill reporting, and work completion activities.

Supports distribution reliability and customer service programs while helping teams respond effectively to changing priorities and emergency situations.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

1–2+ years of experience in work management, planning, scheduling, dispatching, field operations, maintenance, customer service, or a related operational environment.

Experience within electric utilities, electric distribution, telecommunications, outside plant/OSP, utility construction, low voltage, field services, or similar infrastructure environments is highly relevant.

Experience coordinating work orders, field technicians or crews, schedules, materials, equipment, service requests, or operational activities.

Working knowledge of work management principles, processes, or systems used to assign, schedule, distribute, and track work.

Experience supporting field-based operations where priorities can shift quickly due to outages, emergencies, customer needs, or changing operational requirements is valuable.

Comfortable communicating and coordinating with field employees, supervisors, contractors, customers, and internal support teams.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and identify potential barriers to work execution.

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and effectively managing stressful or time-sensitive situations.

Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Dependable and flexible, including the ability to support emergency storm restoration activities outside of normal business hours when required.

High School Diploma or GED required.
