THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

• A hands-on accounting team supporting a high-performance automotive and manufacturing organization with multiple business lines, including project-based manufacturing and performance operations. The Morrisville, NC location plays a key role in delivering complex, contract-driven work tied to a major OEM partnership.
• The team is navigating the early stages of a recent ERP (Acumatica) implementation and is focused on stabilizing accounting operations, improving data integrity, and strengthening financial close and billing processes.
• You’ll work closely with a Senior Accounting Manager (remote), a Strategic Finance Analyst (on-site during transition), and two junior staff accountants, with regular interaction across finance, operations, and manufacturing technology.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

• This role is being hired to stabilize the accounting function following a recent ERP go-live
• The team is continuing to refine and standardize key accounting processes following a recent ERP implementation. This individual will step in to:
  • Help get financials closed accurately and on time
  • Ensure revenue recognition is being applied correctly (ASC 606)
  • Bring discipline to job costing and WIP tracking for manufacturing projects
  • Identify and correct misclassified or inaccurate accounting entries
  • Support adoption and proper use of the ERP across accounting and operations
• This is a hands-on, execution-focused role where the priority is getting the fundamentals right and bringing the function back to a steady, reliable state.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

• Senior Staff Accountant or early Accounting Manager experience
• Strong accrual accounting fundamentals (must-have)
• Proven experience working within an ERP environment (Acumatica a plus)
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Revenue recognition (ASC 606)
  • Job costing and WIP
  • Fixed-price and time & materials billing
• Ability to work across AP, AR, and billing functions as needed
• Experience identifying and correcting accounting errors and system/process gaps
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, unstructured environment
• Manufacturing or project-based accounting experience preferred
