WHAT YOU WILL DO
-
Own and drive product line strategy for Power/HVAC and related equipment categories
-
Improve product line performance by influencing utilization, ROI, lifecycle cost, uptime, and overall fleet economics
-
Translate business requirements into clear product, sourcing, fleet, and lifecycle strategies
-
Define fleet specifications, equipment mix, replacement timing, and disposition approaches
-
Partner with Operations and Fleet Management to ensure fleet strategy supports field demand and broader business priorities
-
Analyze fleet and market data to identify total cost of ownership improvement opportunities
-
Benchmark products, suppliers, lifecycle performance, and market dynamics to guide strategic decisions
-
Lead commercial strategy and negotiations with OEMs and key suppliers
-
Develop negotiation positions around pricing, specifications, rebates, product requirements, and supplier performance
-
Partner with Supplier Management on contract structure, execution, and ongoing supplier relationships
-
Identify emerging technologies, equipment solutions, and product opportunities that support growth and competitive differentiation
-
Influence capital allocation decisions by aligning product strategy with operational and financial priorities
-
Partner across Operations, Sales, Fleet, Finance, Marketing, Connected Assets, and Supply Chain to drive execution
-
Present clear, concise, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership
-
Establish and improve product line management processes, reporting, metrics, and operating rhythms
-
Drive change across the organization through both direct leadership and influence without formal authority

Help develop organizational capability and provide leadership as the product management function continues to scale

Travel approximately 35% to support business, supplier, and operational needs
BACKGROUND PROFILE
-
12-15+ years of experience across product management, fleet management, capital equipment sourcing, category management, or related disciplines
-
Experience within equipment rental, industrial equipment, OEM, construction equipment, power generation, HVAC, or a closely related environment
-
Demonstrated ownership of a product line, equipment category, or business segment
-
Proven track record of improving metrics such as utilization, ROI, lifecycle cost, margin, uptime, or fleet performance
-
Strong understanding of the construction, industrial, Power/HVAC, or power generation equipment landscape
-
Deep knowledge of capital equipment lifecycle management from specification and acquisition through maintenance, replacement, and disposition
-
Strong commercial experience working directly with OEMs and major suppliers
-
Experience developing negotiation strategies and influencing pricing, specifications, rebates, service levels, and supplier performance
-
Proven ability to translate enterprise strategy into executable product and fleet plans
-
Strong analytical capabilities with experience using complex data to support capital, sourcing, and operational decisions
-
Ability to operate effectively within a complex, matrixed organization
-
Strong influencing skills with the ability to align stakeholders across Operations, Sales, Finance, Fleet, and Supply Chain
-
Executive-level communication and presentation capabilities
-
Demonstrated success driving organizational change, process improvement, and performance enhancements
-
Experience leading through both direct and indirect structures and influencing teams without formal authority

Ability and interest to grow into broader formal people leadership as the function expands

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field required
-
MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
-
Professional certifications such as CEM, CEFM, EMS, or CPM are a plus
