WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Owns complex commercial special assets scenarios involving stressed credits, borrower performance challenges, and risk mitigation
- Engages directly with borrowers, sponsors, and management teams during pivotal moments in the loan lifecycle
- Evaluates borrower viability, collateral outcomes, downside risk, and practical resolution strategies
- Partners closely with credit, servicing, legal, operations, and leadership to determine the right path forward
- Helps protect the bank while identifying creative, practical solutions that can move troubled loans toward resolution whenever possible
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Experience in commercial underwriting, portfolio management, credit administration, loan review, special assets, or workout-related roles
- Exposure to problem credits, criticized assets, covenant monitoring, borrower performance issues, or risk-rating changes
- Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to evaluate borrower viability, collateral positions, and downside scenarios
- Comfort engaging directly with borrowers, sponsors, business owners, and internal stakeholders through difficult conversations
- Ability to manage complex credit situations from beginning to end, not just documentation, reporting, or internal workout processes
