WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
  • Lead and review the monthly close process executed by outsourced property accountants to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Analyze property-level financials, identifying trends, variances, and delivering actionable insights to management.
  • Partner with property managers to verify operational activity is correctly reflected in the financial records.
  • Prepare and review owner reporting packages to meet investor expectations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Support accounting for income, expenses, distributions, acquisitions, and dispositions at the property level.
  • Provide ongoing financial training to property managers to elevate reporting accuracy and operational alignment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with asset management and investor relations to deliver timely, accurate financial data.
  • Assist with external audits and tax engagements.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate.
  • Hands-on experience with Yardi and proficiency in Excel and general ledger systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with high attention to detail and a focus on process improvement.
