WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Own key components of the month-end close process and prepare financial statements across company entities
- Prepare consolidated financial statements for management review and external audit support
- Prepare journal entries and perform detailed general ledger account reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation
- Ensure accurate accounting for accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and intercompany transactions
- Partner closely with Accounts Payable to ensure expenses are properly recorded across general ledger accounts and cost centers
- Maintain accurate accounting records and support the continued development of the chart of accounts
- Research accounting matters and support the implementation of applicable financial reporting standards
- Analyze budgets, expenses, revenues, and cost of goods while identifying and correcting financial discrepancies
- Support audit and tax reporting requirements while ensuring reporting complies with both IFRS and US GAAP
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and overall financial reporting accuracy Senior Accountant GL
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong foundation in general ledger accounting and month-end close
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required
- Manufacturing accounting experience is strongly preferred
- Experience working within an ERP environment, ideally supporting a manufacturing organization
- Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions, and financial statement preparation
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, with exposure to or experience supporting IFRS reporting highly valuable
- Ability to analyze financial information, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings clearly to management and business partners
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across accounting, operations, global finance, and external audit teams
- CPA is desirable but not required
