TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING
- You will be joining a growing data and analytics function within a well-established organization supporting critical infrastructure across North America. The team is in the early stages of building out enterprise data governance capabilities, creating a unique opportunity to help shape how data is defined, managed, and trusted across the business. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders across IT and business units to drive alignment, consistency, and long-term scalability of data practices.

- Design and implement foundational data governance practices across priority data domains
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models
- Define and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security
- Develop and maintain data quality metrics, perform audits, and lead remediation efforts
- Support the implementation and adoption of data cataloging and metadata management tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
- Establish standards for certified datasets and authoritative data sources
- Build and mature governance processes, forums, and decision-making structures
- Drive organizational adoption of governance practices through education, communication, and change management
- Collaborate across teams to document data lineage and improve transparency into data usage
- Develop a phased governance roadmap aligned to both immediate business needs and long-term enterprise goals
- 3–5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality-focused roles
- Experience working in early-stage or evolving data governance environments (building vs maintaining)
- Strong understanding of data governance principles including data ownership, stewardship, quality, and metadata management
- Hands-on experience with data governance or cataloging tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, etc.)
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence both technical and business stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Familiarity with data protection and regulatory concepts is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
