THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING:

  • PE-backed consumer services company with hundreds of locations and growing through both investing in new locations and acquisitions
  • Accounting team being rebuilt under a new Controller with a strong technical background, reporting to a CFO known for developing their people
  • Casual, fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture that values building better processes over doing things "the way they've always been done"

WHAT THEY OFFER YOU:

  • The opportunity to help build a best-in-class accounting organization rather than inherit one
  • Exposure to major capital initiatives, including a company-wide rebrand and a unified POS rollout
  • Competitive compensation with a bonus tied to company and individual performance
WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
  • Own month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting schedules
  • Lead lease accounting across a 400+ location portfolio, including schedules, modifications, and renewals, partnering with Real Estate and Finance
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and capital project tracking during a period of heavy investment
  • Support revenue accounting by validating system outputs, preparing entries, and flagging exceptions
  • Help shape reconciliation standards, process documentation, and scalable controls alongside Accounting leadership

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • 4–7+ years of accounting experience; public accounting (Big Four, national, or regional) or a strong corporate accounting background
  • Deep expertise in at least one of the following: lease accounting, fixed assets, or revenue recognition (expertise in two is a big plus)
  • Strong GAAP foundation with experience in reconciliations, accruals, and monthly close
  • NetSuite experience highly preferred; experience with being a part of system implementations, automation, or process improvement is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting Economics or Finance required; CPA or CPA eligible preferred
  • Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building processes in a fast-changing environment
