WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
- Partner with the Controller and Director of Finance to manage core accounting processes and drive strategic financial planning
- Lead manufacturing cost accounting functions, including analysis of labor, materials, and overhead
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and perform periodic reconciliations to maintain integrity across systems
- Develop profitability analyses by product, customer, and business unit to guide pricing and operational strategy
- Maintain general ledger accuracy across AP, AR, and journal entries related to inventory and standard costs
- Drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, preparing schedules and reconciliations
- Support audits through timely and accurate cost and financial documentation
- Help build and maintain internal controls related to inventory and costing accuracy
- Leverage ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics BC 14) to manage financial data, reconciliations, and reporting
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives focused on continuous improvement and financial planning
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4-5+ years of progressive general accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of cost and inventory accounting principles
- Advanced analytical skills with a focus on financial accuracy and decision support
- High proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics BC, SAP, or Oracle
- Organized and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communicator with the ability to present financial data clearly to various stakeholders
- Self-motivated and collaborative; able to work independently and cross-functionally
