LOCATION:
- On-site in Mooresville
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant will play a hands-on role in the day-to-day accounting function including monthly close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Assist Controller in the Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and reporting process
- Work with Controller to ensure monthly / quarterly sales & use tax filings are completed timely
- Participate in the quarterly forecasting and budgeting process
- Ensure vendor invoices are approved and processed in QuickBooks accurately, complete Accounts Payable check runs, and respond to vendor inquiries
- Regularly send out customer statements, work with customers in understanding delays in payments, escalate those issues to Controller, process customer credit card payments, and apply customer payments timely
- Assist Controller in reconciliation of credit card expenses / statements
- Play a key role, through user acceptance testing, in the enhancement, upgrade, and maintenance of financial systems
- Ad Hoc reporting and projects at the direction of the Controller and/or General Manager
- 2+ years of accounting experience with general ledger functions, month-end/year-end close process, Accounts Payable processing, and processing cash receipts
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, Associate’s degree in Accounting required
- Experience with QuickBooks, MS Dynamics, and/or SAP preferred
- Intermediate level of aptitude in MS Excel (pivot tables / V-lookup preferred)
- US GAAP knowledge
- Positive attitude and ability to roll up sleeves in a player-coach capacity
- Excellent time management and efficiency skills
