THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

  • Established utility infrastructure organization supporting electric utility construction, repair, maintenance, and engineering services.
  • Safety-driven business with a strong focus on field execution, workforce development, and operational excellence.
  • Large, field-based environment where training, coaching, and safety leadership directly impact crew performance.
  • Collaborative team focused on building safe, consistent, and high-quality transmission work practices.
  • Role reports into the Safety Department and partners closely with field operations leadership.

LOCATION

  • Monroe, GA.
  • Approximately 75% based at the training facility.
  • Approximately 25% hands-on field coaching with transmission crews.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors and supporting field teams in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
  • Flexibility required for occasional weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, or work outside normal business hours.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

  • This role is critical to ensuring transmission crews work safely, consistently, and efficiently.
  • The Training Instructor will reinforce safe work practices, quality standards, and company expectations across field teams.
  • This person will help identify training gaps and create practical development plans to improve crew performance.
  • The role serves as a key connection point between safety leadership and field operations.
  • The instructor will support EHS audits, OSHA compliance, and continuous improvement across job sites.
  • Strong training and coaching in this seat will directly reduce risk, improve execution, and strengthen the overall safety culture.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

  • 10+ years of transmission construction experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and utility safety practices.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training, or developing field employees.
  • Hands-on background with transmission construction activities, including:
    • Conductor installation and pulling.
    • Structure setting and removal.
    • Rigging and productivity optimization.
    • Bare hand work from 44KV to 500KV.
    • Maintaining equipotential zones and safe work conditions.
  • Ability to assess employee performance and provide clear, actionable feedback.
  • Valid Class A CDL required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Comfortable using computers for reporting, documentation, and training materials.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
  • OSHA Outreach Trainer certification, CSP, CHST, CUSP, CET, or similar safety credentials preferred.
