WHERE IT IS LOCATED

Charlotte, NC (Consultant can sit remote with limited travel expectations).

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead efforts to define, structure, and launch a retail data monetization function.

  • Design the business model, operating framework, and go-to-market strategy for monetizing retail data with CPGs, manufacturers, and marketing firms.

  • Establish and manage a data P&L, with accountability for revenue generation.

  • Create linkage and alignment between retail data monetization and retail media, ensuring complementary and mutually reinforcing capabilities.

  • Develop frameworks for data governance, quality, and productization of insights to meet partner needs.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple business units and geographies to align data monetization activities with corporate strategy.

  • Provide executive-level recommendations and roadmaps that account for organizational complexity and scale.

  • Deliver reporting and insights that demonstrate the value of the monetization program and track progress toward revenue goals.

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED

  • Proven experience building and owning retail data monetization functions, including direct accountability for a data P&L.

  • Strong background in retail data commercialization with CPGs, manufacturers, and/or marketing firms.

  • Demonstrated ability to link data monetization strategies with retail media and other adjacent functions.

  • Experience operating in complex, global retail organizations with multiple business units and stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and the technical requirements of making data productized and sellable.

  • Ability to manage aggressive timelines while delivering depth, rigor, and scalability in program design.

  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills; ability to translate complex data topics into commercial strategies.
