WHERE THE ROLE IS LOCATED:
- Charlotte metro
- Hybrid schedule with approximately 2–3 days per month in the office
- Additional onsite time should be expected during the initial training period
WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
- Support month-end close across a portfolio of commercial healthcare properties
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to maintain accurate property-level financial records
- Assist with the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and reporting packages
- Track fixed assets, prepaid expenses, property-related costs, and other balance-sheet activity
- Research account variances and partner with property managers to resolve financial and operational questions
- Maintain accurate accounting records for REIT-owned properties and third-party property management clients
- Support annual audits and ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and client requirements
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Approximately 2–3 years of full-cycle accounting or property accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
- Property accounting, commercial real estate, multifamily, REIT, or multi-entity accounting experience is preferred
- Experience with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and budget-to-actual variance analysis
- Yardi, MRI, or another property management accounting system is preferred
- CPA or progress toward the CPA is preferred but not required
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple properties, deadlines, and reporting priorities
