- Administers solicitations (RFPs, ITBs, RFQs) and ensures transparent vendor selection
- Drafts, negotiates, and monitors contracts for compliance and fiscal accountability
- Sources vendors, materials, and services to support city projects and initiatives
- Provides guidance on procurement rules, MWBE/HUB goals, and process improvements
- Acts as liaison between departments, vendors, and stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, public administration, or related field
- 1+ year of procurement experience; government or public sector background strongly preferred
- Knowledge of NC General Statutes, federal procurement requirements, and public purchasing practices
- Skilled in bid development, proposal evaluation, and contract management
- CLGPO certification (or ability to obtain within one year) preferred
- Strong relationship-building, detail orientation, and problem-solving mindset
The City of Statesville is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support its growing procurement and contracts function. This role will be responsible for administering competitive solicitations (RFPs, ITBs, RFQs), drafting and negotiating contracts, and ensuring vendor compliance with state and federal procurement regulations. Acting as a key liaison between departments, vendors, and community stakeholders, this individual will play a vital role in supporting infrastructure projects, sustainability initiatives, and citywide modernization efforts.
