WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- This organization is moving from a legacy ERP environment (Microsoft Dynamics GP) toward a modern enterprise platform, with Workday at the center of the future-state strategy. The program will require tight coordination across workstream leadership, decision-making, vendor/integrator execution, finance process ownership, and end-user readiness.
- While the direction is clear, the work will continue to evolve as implementation planning accelerates. This consultant will bring the structure to:
- align stakeholders on scope and sequencing,
- make dependencies and ownership visible,
- run an effective operating cadence, and
- keep execution moving while risks and issues are surfaced early and resolved quickly.
- Success in this role directly influences the organization’s ability to deliver a stable go-live while minimizing disruption to finance operations and day-to-day business execution.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional project/program initiatives spanning business process, technology delivery, and finance stakeholders
- Prior delivery experience supporting Workday implementations and/or enterprise finance/ERP modernization (including migrations away from legacy platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics GP)
- Strong experience building and maintaining project plans, governance routines, stakeholder communications, RAID logs, decision tracking, and executive-level status reporting
- Ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment where priorities, sequencing, ownership, and deliverables must be clarified and reinforced as the work progresses
- Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on execution with senior stakeholder alignment and program-level visibility
- Working knowledge of core finance/process areas impacted by enterprise transformations (helpful, not required): record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, billing, revenue, A/R, close, and reporting
- Strong communication, facilitation, and follow-through skills with the ability to push workstreams forward, manage competing priorities, and drive resolution
