THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING
- Join AccruePartners as a consultant supporting a large national insurance organization to modernize its IT policy, standards, and procedural framework.
- The cybersecurity policy structure is already mature — the priority now is to update and standardize IT-focused policies, standards, and procedures across infrastructure, applications, operations, cloud, and data.
- With upcoming regulatory reviews, foreign ownership oversight, and the implementation of AuditBoard (ITRM module), this effort will build a sustainable, audit-ready IT policy governance model.
- You will partner with IT leadership, the Technology Business Office, Corporate Risk, Internal Audit, and technical SMEs to assess, consolidate, rewrite, and prepare documentation for executive review and approval.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Phase 1 – Inventory & Gap Analysis
- Review existing IT policies (6), standards (22), and procedures (32)
- Identify gaps, redundancies, outdated content, and missing documentation
- Assess alignment with SOC, NYDFS, SOX, GDPR, and internal audit expectations
- Phase 2 – Consolidation & Rationalization
- Recommend combining, retiring, or restructuring documents where appropriate
- Standardize templates, taxonomy, language, and document hierarchy across IT
- Phase 3 – Rewrite & Update Execution
- Draft and modernize policies, standards, and procedures across IT operations, cloud, infrastructure, applications, data, DR/BCP, and service management
- Coordinate SME interviews and prepare documents for formal review and approval by the Corporate Risk Committee and IT leadership
HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED
- L ead IT Policy & Tech Writing Consultant (Required Experience):
- 8–10+ years developing IT policies, standards, and procedures within enterprise environments
- Insurance or financial services industry experience is require d (due to regulatory structure, NYDFS oversight, and risk governance model)
- Proven experience leading IT policy modernization or governance initiatives
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud, IT operations, and control frameworks (NIST, ITIL, COBIT, etc.)
- Skilled in stakeholder coordination, SME interviews, and navigating executive review/approval cycles
