- Manage and mentor a lean team of Tier 2 and Tier 3 infrastructure engineers, ensuring effective handling of escalated technical issues and smooth daily operations.
- Take ownership of the company’s diverse IT infrastructure, including virtual environments, network LAN, firewalls, Azure backups, and replication, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Develop and drive a strategic roadmap for infrastructure improvements, aligning technology initiatives with business goals and best practices.
- Balance hands-on technical involvement with leadership responsibilities, supporting the team while managing workload and priorities.
- Work closely with the security team and newly hired security architect to integrate security best practices into infrastructure design and incident response.
- Oversee potential offshore generalist resources to offload operational tasks from the core infrastructure team, enhancing efficiency.
- Lead incident response efforts for infrastructure-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing business impact.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain high-quality IT services and support continuous improvement.
- Provide regular updates on infrastructure performance, project progress, and team metrics to leadership, fostering transparency and informed decision-making.

- Limited travel around the Carolinas
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or support, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineering teams.
- Strong technical knowledge across a broad infrastructure stack, including experience with Fortinet firewalls, Nutanix, Azure cloud services, Windows and Linux server environments.
- Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams, manage workloads, and drive strategic initiatives with a focus on ownership and continuous improvement.
- Experience managing or collaborating with offshore resources to support day-to-day operations and infrastructure engineering.
- Familiarity with security principles and working alongside security teams, including incident response and access control management.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset to develop and execute infrastructure roadmaps.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality IT infrastructure services.
