THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

  • Join an established, national organization in the telecommunications and infrastructure services industry with employees located across the country.
  • Partner directly with the HR Manager and CFO on a highly visible compliance initiative that is important to the business.
  • Step into a collaborative, hands-on environment where you will be trusted to own the project, work directly with employees, and drive it through completion.
  • Join a team that values people who can jump in, take initiative, and make an immediate impact.

WHAT THEY OFFER YOU

  • Ownership + Impact: Take the lead on a defined project with a clear finish line: bringing the organization to 100% I-9 compliance.
  • Leadership Exposure: Work closely with HR and Finance leadership rather than being buried within a large administrative team.
  • Flexibility: Primarily remote opportunity with approximately one day per week onsite in Charlotte.
  • Autonomy: Manage the process from identification and employee outreach through completion and final audit.
  • Immediate Value: Walk into a project where your expertise is genuinely needed and where you can see the tangible result of your work.
  • Potential Broader Exposure: As the project progresses, there may be opportunities to support other HR or business needs based on bandwidth.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Own the review and completion of approximately 100 outstanding I-9 records for current employees.
  • Communicate directly with employees across the country to collect documentation and complete outstanding requirements.
  • Review employee populations to identify gaps and ensure no records are missed.
  • Apply I-9 and employment eligibility requirements accurately and consistently.
  • Document appropriate updates for current and former employees and maintain clean, audit-ready records.
  • Partner closely with the HR Manager throughout the project while independently driving day-to-day execution.
  • Complete a final audit of the population with the goal of reaching 100% compliance by year-end.

BACKGROUND THAT FITS

  • Hands-on experience completing Form I-9s and E-Verify as part of HR onboarding, HR operations, compliance, or a dedicated I-9 project.
  • Strong understanding of I-9 requirements, documentation, and compliance standards.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with employees and guiding them through required documentation.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage a high-volume, deadline-driven project independently.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and comfort learning new systems.
  • A proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with the ability to take ownership and get the project across the finish line.
