WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Design, deploy, and maintain the organization’s diverse IT infrastructure, including Fortinet firewalls, Azure cloud services, Windows and Linux server environments, and network LAN environments.
- Monitor and maintain secure, resilient systems, ensuring compliance with security best practices and working closely with the security architect to integrate proactive defenses and incident response measures.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineers, troubleshooting complex issues and providing mentorship to develop technical skills across the team.
- Develop infrastructure roadmaps and strategic improvement plans, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives and future growth.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and external vendors to deliver high-quality IT services and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead or support incident response efforts for infrastructure-related issues, minimizing business impact and ensuring timely resolutions.
LOCATION
- Charlotte, NC - Onsite 5 days per week
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or support roles, with at least 2 years providing leadership or advanced technical guidance to Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams.
- Strong technical expertise with Fortinet firewalls and/or Azure cloud services.
- Proficiency across a broad infrastructure stack, including networking, virtualization (e.g., Nutanix or VMware), Windows and Linux servers, and backup/replication technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, manage priorities effectively, and drive strategic initiatives focused on continuous improvement.
- Experience working with or overseeing offshore support resources.
- Familiarity with security practices, including incident response, access control, and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders clearly.
