What You Will Do:
- Own and engineer the company’s IT infrastructure platforms, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and identity services.
- Function as the technical lead for Azure and Azure managed services, steering third-party providers, reviewing designs, filtering requests, and approving changes.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 infrastructure, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, tenant configuration, identity controls, and administrative standards.
- Ensure backup and recovery systems are operating as intended, monitored, tested, and playbooks are documented.
- Implement and maintain secure infrastructure configurations in partnership with Information Security.
- Lead infrastructure engineering design for new initiatives, including SaaS application onboarding and platform integrations.
- Operate within established change management and security policies, ensuring infrastructure changes are controlled and auditable.
- Define, implement, and maintain infrastructure monitoring and alerting standards.
- Ensure infrastructure systems are patched, supported, and kept current.
- Troubleshoot, remediate, and resolve infrastructure-related issues, partnering with vendors and internal teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate records for IT infrastructure assets, configurations, and dependencies.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve infrastructure processes using scripting and tooling.
The Background that Fits:
- 5+ years of overall IT experience, with 3+ years in infrastructure administration or engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Entra ID (Azure AD), identity and access controls, and tenant-level configuration.
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Microsoft operating systems.
- Proficiency with PowerShell for administration and automation.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues and drive resolution.
- Working understanding of network infrastructure fundamentals (firewalls, routing, connectivity) and how they support servers, cloud, and application services.
- Experience with automation and scripting, including PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash.
- Experience implementing or maintaining monitoring and alerting systems.
- Familiarity with infrastructure, security standards, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant Microsoft or cloud certifications are a plus but not required.
