WHERE IT IS LOCATED
- The position is based in Concord, North Carolina
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Calculate and manage use tax compliance, including monthly filings and use tax calculations.
- Conduct detailed tax research and support audits and special projects related to indirect tax.
- Troubleshoot and utilize sales and use tax software such as Avalara and NetSuite to ensure accurate tax processing.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors for property tax filings by preparing and transferring required documentation.
- Manage business licenses, registered agent filings, and respond to tax-related notices across multiple company locations.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the tax team and with external partners to support tax operations.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, to analyze and report tax data effectively.
- Participate in initial in-office training and ongoing collaboration, with potential for partial remote work after onboarding.
HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED
- Experience with sales and use tax compliance, including use tax calculation and filings
- Strong research skills related to tax issues and audits
- Familiarity with technology and tax software such as Avalara + NetSuite highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
- Background in public accounting or industry tax roles is acceptable, with preference for hands-on software experience
- Ability to manage business licenses, registered agent filings, and related tax administrative tasks
- Comfortable working initially on-site for training with potential for partial remote work thereafter
