- Report directly to a senior Security Engineering leader who is continuing to build and mature the organization's security capabilities.
- Work alongside a team of four U.S.-based engineers, with additional technology resources located internationally.
- Join a team that has already reduced its support ticket volume by approximately 75% through automation and is looking to bring the same mindset to Identity and Access Management.
- Step into a highly visible area of the security organization as the company modernizes its IAM environment, improves onboarding and offboarding, and continues its transition to Okta.
LOCATION
- Fort Mill, SC
- Onsite environment, generally 5 days per week
WHAT THEY OFFER YOU
- 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with anticipated conversion around the February timeframe.
- The organization is also evaluating whether the position could move directly to a permanent hire.
- Opportunity to join a growing Security Engineering function where automation and process improvement are actively supported.
- Direct access to the leader of the Security Engineering team and the ability to influence how IAM capabilities are built moving forward.
- An environment that values practical technical ability over pedigree. A college degree or specific certifications are not required.
- Opportunity to work across Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, PAM technologies, APIs, scripting, and broader identity-security initiatives.
WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- The organization is in the middle of modernizing its Identity and Access Management environment, with a particular focus on improving and automating Joiner-Mover-Leaver processes.
- Several IAM processes are still highly manual today, creating an opportunity for this person to identify inefficiencies and turn them into scalable, automated workflows.
- Help support and mature the company's transition to Okta, while continuing to develop integrations and SSO capabilities within Microsoft Entra ID.
- Build automation through scripting, APIs, and workflow development to reduce manual ticket volume and improve the employee onboarding and offboarding experience.
- Partner with the security team to assess the current IAM environment, identify gaps, and help develop a longer-term IAM roadmap.
- Support and improve IAM and Privileged Access Management capabilities across the organization.
- Develop API-based integrations between identity platforms and other enterprise systems.
- Troubleshoot identity and access issues while documenting processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- This is a hands-on engineering role. The team is looking for someone who can come in, understand the environment quickly, and start solving problems rather than simply administering tickets.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Approximately 3+ years of IAM, identity engineering, security engineering, or closely related experience.
- Hands-on experience working with Okta, particularly lifecycle management and Joiner-Mover-Leaver workflows.
- Experience configuring and supporting SSO integrations within Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD.
- Demonstrated ability to automate manual processes using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting technologies.
- Experience using APIs to integrate systems and automate identity workflows.
- Exposure to an IGA platform is strongly preferred, even if that experience is not extensive.
- Experience with a PAM platform such as Delinea, CyberArk, or BeyondTrust. Delinea specifically is not required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify the root cause of identity and access issues.
- Experience working within Jira or a similar ticketing and project-tracking environment.
- Someone who naturally looks at repetitive manual processes and thinks, "How can we automate this?"
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, onsite engineering environment in Fort Mill.
- Degree and certifications are not required. The priority is finding someone with the technical experience and practical ability to do the work.
