THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING
  • You’ll be joining Corporate Engineering organization, responsible for delivering reliable, scalable end-user technology and IT operations to ~2,000 employees globally
  • The team supports a modern, cloud-first environment and operates across Oakland   (HQ), Charlotte, and London, partnering closely with Security, People Operations, and Engineering as the company continues to scale.
  • This role leads a distributed IT Support function consisting of 5 IT Support   Engineers and ~5 contractors across multiple time zones.

LOCATION:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Design, develop, and maintain fraud detection rules by translating business requirements into clear, scalable, and efficient rule logic within the rules engine.
  • Build and enhance declarative rules using Drools or similar frameworks, and develop custom Java-based rule components to ensure high performance and system efficiency.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and structure transactional data required for accurate fraud evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, risk, data, and engineering to refine fraud detection strategies and implement rule enhancements.
 
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
  • Strong programming fundamentals with the ability to translate business requirements into structured, efficient rule logic using clearly defined conditions and actions.
  • Experience working with rules engines and declarative rule writing. Familiarity with Drools is preferred, and a working knowledge of Java is helpful for developing high-performance custom rule code.
  • Proven ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and prepare transactional data for use within a fraud detection rules engine.
  • Hands-on experience using Git in a collaborative development environment, including branching, merging, and maintaining changes within a centralized rules repository.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with experience developing logic related to fraud detection, risk management, or similar analytical domains.
