Why This Role is Important:
- Supervises managerial and/or clerical personnel; supervisory duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards as required. Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates performance; provides training, advice and assistance as needed.
- Creates and/or maintains a successful company reporting system based on accepted accounting principles and practices; ensures that expenditures are categorized appropriately. Analyzes present and future budgetary and cash flow concerns. Is responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and general ledger reports for the company.
- Acts as the principle financial adviser to the company General Manager, Executive Vice President, Chief Executive Officer and President. Conducts long-range financial forecasting; researches various issues and prepares financial analyses and schedules.
- Reviews and signs accounts payable checks.
- Administers all financial policies, transactions and activities as approved by company officials. Reviews and acts on all issues which impact financial, cash flow, personnel and other operations as requested.
- Formulates and supervises all accounting methods, procedures, forms and records.
- Records and summarizes financial information for Brico, LLC.
- Assists with the development of cost control and expense reduction strategies and their implementation.
- Manages relationship and communication with external auditing firms and other advisers.
- Oversees, reviews, assists with and/or prepares tax information and licensing renewals for state and federal authorities.
- Establishes and maintains control of accounts receivable policies, procedures, maintenance and collection.
- Establishes and maintains control of fixed assets, systems, policies and procedures.
- Reviews and makes recommendations for improving internal controls of the company, including those regarding the sales and cash receipts cycle, cash disbursements and inventory control.
- Assists in assessing manpower needs to support the efficient operations of the company.
- Performs various administrative and office tasks as necessary, including but not limited to preparing and responding to correspondence, completing and reviewing reports, entering data into computer, filing and backing up computer system.
- Receives and reviews invoices, checks, journal entries, payroll journal entries and accruals, summary reports, proposals, bank statements, financial statements, tax reports and documents, general ledger, purchase orders, sales reports, analytical reports, correspondence, etc.
- Prepares financial statements and summaries, analytical reports, tax workpapers, tax returns, spreadsheets, graphs, presentation materials, flowcharts, amortization schedules, journal entries, checks, performance appraisals, memos, correspondence, etc.
- Refers to policy and procedure manuals, equipment specifications and manuals, regulations, professional journals, computer manuals, Internet information, insurance policies, etc.
- Operates a variety of equipment such as a personal computer, printer, scanner, phone and voice mail system, copier, fax machine, calculator, telephone, etc.
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the COO, CEO, company President, subordinate managers and staff, company staff, customers, vendors, Anheuser-Busch officials, shareholders, Bridges' family members, IRS, Department of Revenue, attorneys, consultants, accountants, auditors, financial institutions and the general public.
The background that fits:
- Bachelor’s degree in financial management, accounting, business management or other relevant field supplemented by a
- Minimum of three years responsible administrative experience in accounting, tax preparation, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Advanced user knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel (pivot tables, V-look ups) required.
