WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Collaborates and works across the Finance division to ensure integrity of the financials and ensures sound controls and procedures. Supports reporting and analysis for additional constituencies, including Board of Directors, Investor Relations, and various regulatory agencies.
- This role will support the IT Line of Business with detailed review of month-end, responsible for making appropriate entries to accrue for unpaid invoices and establishing prepaids where appropriate.
- Responsible for the monthly close books for specific IT functions
- Understanding of project accounting under GAAP including criteria for capitalization
- Liaise with LOB leaders to go over actual results vs. Plan and forecast at least monthly
- Update forecast projections along with risks and opportunities vs. Plan; align actual results compared to forecast at the detailed forecast level for review with business partners
- Experienced financial professional role that applies in-depth knowledge within own professional discipline and a deeper understanding of concepts and principles of the business to produce relevant financial analysis and reporting.
- Compiles, reviews, analyzes, and submits timely and accurate monthly reporting related to the Bank's financial performance or strategy. These may include: pro-forma projections for transaction, products, market segmentation strategies or acquisitions; income/expense or cash flow forecasts; regulatory interpretations, variance analysis and explanations for financial statement line items; or summaries, charts and graphs of data to highlight key results. Ensures that source data is reliable, complete and documentation is maintained to support data integrity initiatives. Interpret and summarize results and trends for Senior Leadership.
- Applies knowledge of best practices derived from experience to solve problems of higher operational or technical complexity by analyzing possible solutions using data analysis, experience, judgement and precedents. Takes a new perspective on existing solutions to propose innovative solutions. Prepares and reviews materials to senior leadership summarizing issues and communicating solutions.
BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and related training.
- Five years of relevant accounting or finance experience that includes complex financial analysis. Should have a strong understanding of project capitalization, debits/credits, accrual entry etc.
- Ability to take direction and then work independently to complete tasks while considering broader implications or necessary additional analysis.
- Ability to build consensus through communication and presentation of factual and relevant information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
