WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
- Architect and establish Microsoft Fabric as the organization’s enterprise data platform
- Design a scalable medallion architecture across bronze, silver, and gold data layers
- Recommend best practices for data ingestion, pipelines, dataflows, notebooks, lakehouse structures, security, and governance
- Integrate data from a new Datatex ERP, FP&A systems, EH&S applications, production monitoring platforms, and other cloud and on-premises sources
- Develop practical interim solutions that address urgent business needs without compromising the long-term architecture
- Create repeatable processes, documentation, and standards that enable the internal team to independently operate and expand the platform
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- Senior-level experience architecting and building Microsoft Fabric environments from the ground up
- Demonstrated expertise with Azure, Fabric lakehouse architecture, Direct Lake, data pipelines, dataflows, notebooks, and medallion architecture
- Experience connecting cloud-based and on-premises data sources through secure integration and data bridge solutions
- Ability to establish governance, development standards, deployment processes, and scalable architectural patterns
- Comfortable challenging existing technical decisions and presenting clear, experience-based alternatives
- Proven success delivering enterprise-grade architecture while also creating pragmatic solutions for immediate business priorities
LOCATION:
- Remote candidates will be considered based on the depth of their Microsoft Fabric implementation experience
- Candidates located near the Charlotte region and able to provide periodic onsite support are preferred
- Initial contract duration of 3 to 6 months
