WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Owns delivery across the company's highest-visibility technology initiatives, ensuring projects land on time and on budget after a period of significant investment in new platforms
- Directs the ERP implementation from the IT side, managing system integrations, vendor relationships, and cross-functional impacts in partnership with the finance organization
- Oversees infrastructure, store systems across ~90 locations, corporate applications, and the development environment supporting multiple business entities
- Serves as the subject matter expert for point-of-sale technologies, guiding upgrades, new implementations, and the platform's continued development for external customers
- Partners with the fractional Chief Security Officer to protect company systems and data in an environment where security vigilance is an operational reality
- Ensures business continuity and disaster recovery readiness for a distributed, always-open retail operation
- Builds credibility and alignment across a long-tenured organization where technology decisions touch every department, from the field to the home office
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- 10+ years managing information technology functions, with at least 5 years leading and developing technical teams
- Proven project delivery track record: this organization is specifically seeking a leader who ships on time and on budget, with disciplined project governance and vendor management
- ERP implementation experience strongly preferred, ideally including system selection, integration, and cross-functional rollout; NetSuite exposure is a plus
- Multi-location retail technology experience with point-of-sale systems required; comfort supporting distributed store environments at scale
- Hands-on leadership style suited to a lean team in a mid-sized organization: strategic enough to own the roadmap, practical enough to stay close to the work
- Strong communication and consensus-building skills for an environment rich in institutional knowledge, where buy-in matters as much as authority
- Experience in retail, quick-serve restaurant, distribution, or other multi-site consumer-facing operations preferred
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field required
