Location: Charlotte, NC (In-Office) | Market: Greater Charlotte Metro | Practice: Project Solutions
AccruePartners | 24+ years | Outcomes, not headcount
The Mandate
Every AccruePartners client is a potential Project Solutions customer, and every company in the market with the right need is a potential target you have not called yet. Your job is to go get them. You are the market-facing engine of our fastest-growing practice: you create demand, shape the solution, and connect a client’s problem to the full weight of Accrue’s delivery capability.
This is full-cycle, self-directed, net-new business development. It is not account management, not order-taking, and not a seat that waits on inbound or an SDR to feed it. If you are energized by an open territory and a blank pipeline you get to fill yourself, this is your role.
Why AccruePartners
- Something new, backed by 24+ years of proven success. You get the upside of an evolving practice with the stability of an established firm behind you.
- A results-driven, no-nonsense culture. We move fast, stay focused, and care deeply about outcomes for our colleagues, candidates, and clients.
- Hands-on leadership and a business built for what’s next. Principal Partners and a leadership team invested in your success, plus continuous investment in the people, platforms, and performance that help you win.
What Success Looks Like
- Own your market. Build and carry a self-generated pipeline of qualified Project Solutions opportunities across the Greater Charlotte metro. Win net-new logos and expand wallet share inside the accounts you open.
- Drive 8+ client-facing meetings weekly. Discovery conversations, scoping sessions, and relationship-building meetings that move real opportunities forward. This is the activity floor that keeps you in front of the market and your pipeline full.
- Generate 5+ new opportunities weekly. Identify, qualify, and log net-new opportunities worth pursuing. Source from your desk and in the field through meaningful conversations, Bullhorn tracking, and strategic use of marketing assets. These are opportunities you create, not leads handed to you.
- Win 2+ new solutions deals monthly. Convert pipeline into signed engagements of new scoped bodies of work sold and launched. This is the outcome all the activity drives toward.
- Cross-sell the practice. Introduce Project Solutions into clients who know Accrue through Search and Interim but have never engaged us for solutions. Partner with our account and delivery teams so Project Solutions becomes a natural extension of the relationship, not a competing pitch.
- Get in the room. 1 to 2 in-person networking events monthly. Deepen relationships beyond the screen and stay visible in the community you sell into.
How You Win the Work
- Listen for the signals. Stay alert for the inflection points that create engagements such as transformation, system or platform implementation, merger and acquisition activity, restructuring. Uncover the pain beneath the request.
- Shape the solution. Drive every qualified conversation toward a defined scope, size, timeline, and outcome. Translate a business problem into a scoped body of work.
- Quarterback the right resources. Pull the VP of Project Solutions forward for heavy solutioning and work with the EVP of Talent & Delivery to attach the right talent at the right time. Draw on Accrue’s candidate community and line-of-business subject matter experts for the depth each initiative demands. You are never in a room without the firepower to close.
- Own the throughline. Stay engaged from kickoff through completion so what you sold is what gets delivered keeping scope, quality, and outcome aligned to what the client was promised.
The Team Behind You
- Six specialized disciplines, each led by a subject-matter expert with deep domain knowledge. You are not expected to be a mile deep in every practice. You are expected to recognize the signal, ask the right questions, and pull the right expert forward at the right time.
- Heavy solutioning on demand. A VP of Project Solutions and an EVP of Talent & Delivery ready to scope, size, and staff the engagements you source, so a technical question never costs you a deal.
- 24 years of market credibility and a tech-enabled recruiting and delivery platform that provides the proof points, references, and speed you need to compete and win up market.
- Regional roots, national reach. A focus on mid-market and enterprise clients in the Carolinas and Southeast, with a footprint that has organically grown to 42 states and counting.
The Practice’s Four Pillars
- Enterprise Program & PMO Leadership . The large, cross-functional programs that reshape how a business runs: ERP implementations and upgrades, post-merger integration, divestiture and separation management, finance transformation roadmaps, enterprise system consolidations, IT governance buildouts, and TSA exit management. Increasingly, this includes standing up AI governance and operating models, leading enterprise AI readiness programs, and providing program oversight for AI and data platform initiatives that cut across the business.
- Business & Technology Enablement. The systems and data initiatives that modernize the operating core: ERP and CRM selection and rollout, data warehouse and BI builds, data remediation, financial systems modernization, FP&A and EPM tooling, HRIS upgrades, and system integrations across acquisitions. This is also where AI gets built into the operating core: AI and machine learning platform selection and rollout, data readiness and pipeline work that makes AI viable, Copilot and agentic tooling deployment, intelligent document processing, and embedding AI capabilities into ERP, CRM, and BI environments.
- Operational Readiness & Change Adoption. The people side of change that determines whether an initiative sticks: change management for ERP go-live, communication strategy, organizational redesign, SOP rollout across locations, leadership alignment, training and L&D program design, cultural integration post-acquisition, and first-100-days operating model resets. This is the pillar where most AI initiatives succeed or fail, and it covers workforce enablement and AI literacy, change management for AI-driven process shifts, responsible-use policy rollout, and redesigning roles and workflows around new AI capabilities.
- Process Optimization & Functional Transformation. The efficiency and controls work that drives measurable financial outcomes: finance close acceleration, order-to-cash and procure-to-pay redesign, shared services buildout, working capital improvement, supply chain redesign, cost takeout, and internal controls redesign. AI is a growing lever here for measurable results: intelligent automation across close, order-to-cash, and procure-to-pay, AI-assisted forecasting and scenario modeling in FP&A, and applied AI that drives cost takeout while strengthening rather than weakening internal controls.
Who Thrives in This Role
- You are a closer who builds from scratch. You have a proven track record of self-sourced, net-new logos and quota carried and hit. You are comfortable with cold outreach and create opportunities where no RFP, no inbound, and no active buying process exists.
- You carry a bag and you can hold a scoping conversation, and you see no conflict between the two. You have sold, scoped, or delivered project-based work and sat credibly across from CFOs, COOs, CHROs, and CIOs.
- You come from mid-market consulting or from industry, where your job was solving complex problems across a diverse set of stakeholders (IT, Finance, HR, Operations, and beyond), giving you the business acumen to diagnose a problem across functions without needing to be the deepest expert in any single one.
- You are self-directed and market-facing by nature, comfortable owning the full cycle with limited hand-holding. You want the territory, not the safety net.
- Knowledge of the Greater Charlotte business community is a strong advantage.
