THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING
- A global specialty chemical company with operations and customers worldwide
- You’ll sit in the company’s Americas regional headquarters in Charlotte and support multiple plants and warehouses across the region
- You’ll report directly to the Finance Manager over Sales and Operations
- This is an individual contributor seat, but you’ll be an active member of the plant and supply chain management team, not just a back-office number cruncher
- You’ll partner daily with plant leaders, operations, and supply chain, so the work is cross-functional
- Why now: this is an immediate need tied to the company’s focus on growth, scalability, and profitability across its manufacturing footprint
WHAT THEY OFFER YOU
- A senior-level seat (the internal title is Assistant Manager, Cost Accounting & Controlling) without the people-management load
- Direct visibility with finance and plant leadership on cost, margin, and profitability decisions
- Real influence on standard costs, budgets, and forecasts across multiple sites
- Exposure to the full cost picture: manufacturing, inventory, freight, fixed assets, and procure to pay
- Room to lead efficiency and productivity work, not just report on it
- Competitive compensation and a full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability)
LOCATION
- Charlotte, NC
- 100% onsite (not open to hybrid or remote)
WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Own month-end close support for plants and warehouses, including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations
- Drive PPV and manufacturing variance analysis so leadership knows where margin is won or lost
- Lead plant budgets, forecasts, and KPI tracking across cost centers, capex, site costs, and sales and product planning
- Set and maintain standard costs, and partner with plant management to keep BOMs and routings accurate
- Analyze plant, warehouse, material, and freight costs to find savings and improve profitability
- Protect inventory accuracy through cycle counts, annual physicals, inventory reserves, and LCM adjustments
- Track fixed assets, depreciation, and CIP, and help strengthen the procure to pay process
- Keep records and controls audit-ready and deliver the ad hoc analysis leadership needs to make decisions
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- 5+ years in cost accounting or analytical accounting roles, ideally in manufacturing
- 5+ years of hands-on variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong grasp of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and inventory accounting
- Advanced Excel skills, plus ERP standard costing experience (preferred)
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and supporting audits
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future
- You’re a self-starter and a real business partner who’s as comfortable on the plant floor with operations as you are in a spreadsheet
