WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Own the accounting for the company's corporate entities, including the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Maintain the integrity of the corporate general ledger and oversee accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, debt, intercompany activity, and other corporate-level transactions
- Prepare corporate financial statements and management reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner
- Manage, develop, and provide direction to the corporate accounting team
- Support treasury activities, company-wide cash forecasting, and preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and footnotes
- Champion process improvement, automation, and adoption of technology and systems to improve efficiency and data integrity
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant corporate or industry accounting experience
- Experience taking ownership of the accounting for one or more entities or business units
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial close processes
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with monthly and annual financial close processes
- Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and identify and resolve issues
- ERP, multi-entity, and accounting process automation experience preferred
- Public accounting experience is a plus, but not required
