WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
- Lead all accounting functions: project accounting, WIP management ?
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP?
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations teams to monitor project status, update cost-to-complete, and ensure accurate and timely construction billing (AIA and service)?
- Manage and continuously improve accounting systems, policies, internal controls, and processes?
- Coordinate year-end audit process and manage external auditor relationships?
- Implement systems upgrades and oversee new accounting technology integrations?
- Lead and mentor accounting staff to drive accuracy, efficiency, and accountability?
BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA strongly preferred)?
- Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, ideally in the construction or MEP services industry?
- Strong knowledge of construction project accounting, GAAP, and financial reporting?
- Experience preparing job cost reports, WIP schedules, and financial dashboards?
- Proficiency with Viewpoint Spectrum, Vista, or similar construction ERP systems?
- Demonstrated success leading accounting teams and improving processes?
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills?
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment?
