WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- The organization is executing two critical initiatives simultaneously: a production facility expansion and a corporate office renovation. Both projects are entering the construction phase and will be led by an external general contractor.
- Without dedicated internal project leadership, the organization faces risk across timeline adherence, budget control, and coordination between construction activity and ongoing operations.
- This consultant will serve as the client-side project lead, ensuring both projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business needs, while holding external vendors accountable and providing clear visibility to leadership.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager or Owner’s Representative overseeing commercial or industrial projects
- Strong understanding of construction lifecycle, including pre-construction, scheduling, budgeting, and vendor management
- Experience managing and holding general contractors accountable for delivery, timelines, and cost control
- Ability to operate in a client-side oversight role, balancing governance, stakeholder communication, and escalation management
- Comfort working on-site in a hands-on environment with early start times aligned to construction schedules
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to interface with executive leadership and operational teams
