AccruePartners is expanding, and we’re looking for a Business Development Manager who is wired to hunt, compete, and create new business and develop new relationships.
This is a true new-business development role for someone who is genuinely energized by opening doors, creating and building relationships from scratch, and turning cold prospects into long-term clients. You won’t be stepping into a mature book of business or simply managing existing accounts. You’ll be expected to identify whitespace, build your own pipeline, pursue net-new opportunities, and consistently convert relationships into revenue.
You’ll join an award-winning firm with 20+ years of market credibility, deep expertise across six business verticals, and the delivery capabilities to back up what you sell. We provide the platform, reputation, resources, and talent solutions. You bring the drive to create opportunities where they don’t yet exist.
What You’ll Do
- Create and develop business from the ground up. Proactively identify and pursue net-new clients through strategic outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, market intelligence, and direct executive outreach.
- Own the top of the funnel. Build and continuously replenish a healthy pipeline rather than relying on inbound leads or existing relationships to generate results.
- Open doors others can’t. Develop creative strategies to gain access to CFOs, Controllers, CHROs, CIOs, CMOs, and other senior decision-makers across AccruePartners’ six lines of business.
- Turn cold into connected. Confidently initiate conversations with executives who may not know AccruePartners today and earn the right to become a trusted business partner.
- Create demand. Go beyond responding to open requisitions. Uncover business challenges, workforce gaps, upcoming initiatives, and organizational needs that can be solved through project, interim, executive search, and direct-hire solutions.
- Navigate complex sales cycles. Identify decision-makers, overcome objections, maintain momentum, negotiate effectively, and ask for the business.
- Expand every opportunity. Once you establish a relationship, look beyond the initial need to introduce clients to AccruePartners’ broader capabilities across Accounting & Finance, HR, Corporate Operations, Financial Services, Marketing/Digital/Creative, and IT.
- Own your number. Take personal accountability for prospecting activity, pipeline development, meetings, new logos, gross margin, and revenue generation.
- Stay in the hunt. Demonstrate the persistence and resilience to continue pursuing high-value prospects when the first answer is “not now” or “we already have a partner.”
What You Bring
- 5+ years of demonstrated new-business sales success within staffing, professional services, consulting, Big 4, or another solutions-based B2B environment.
- A track record of personally generating net-new business, not simply inheriting or managing an established book of accounts.
- Evidence that you can build a territory or pipeline from limited existing opportunity and consistently convert prospecting activity into meetings, opportunities, and revenue.
- Comfort with high levels of proactive outreach to include cold calling, executive outreach, networking, referrals, and targeted prospecting.
- The ability to articulate your sales metrics: pipeline created, new logos won, revenue generated, quota attainment, average deal size, sales cycle, and other measurable indicators of performance.
- A competitive mindset and genuine desire to win business paired with the emotional intelligence to build credible, consultative executive relationships.
- Persistence without becoming transactional. You know how to stay relevant, add value, overcome objections, and keep a prospect engaged over a long sales cycle.
- Strong closing instincts. You are comfortable asking difficult questions, creating urgency, challenging assumptions, and directly asking for the business.
- Entrepreneurial ownership. You don’t wait for someone to hand you leads, tell you whom to call, or create your pipeline for you.
- Curiosity about how businesses operate and the ability to translate business challenges into talent, workforce, and project solutions.
