WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Own the billing and revenue accounting function and ensure accurate, timely processing
- Review and oversee billing activity and related accounting across the team
- Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606 and US GAAP
- Review accounting activity to ensure revenue is recorded in the appropriate period
- Oversee reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of related ledgers
- Review team members' work and provide technical accounting guidance
- Establish and maintain appropriate controls over billing and revenue processes
- Provide accounting oversight for the billing function and sign off on the accuracy of work performed
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility
- Accounting Manager, Billing Manager, Revenue Manager, or comparable experience preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting fundamentals
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition
- Experience overseeing billing and/or revenue accounting functions
- Experience reviewing reconciliations, journal activity, and financial data for accuracy
- Ability to review and guide the work of accounting and billing professionals
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and accountability
