  • Serves as a critical extension of the City Manager, shaping policy and strategy across departments.
  • Acts as a key liaison between the City and the community, responding to complex citizen issues.
  • Drives capital projects, policy research, and intergovernmental relations with measurable results.
  • Provides direct leadership and coaching to department heads, influencing citywide performance.
  • Leads special projects that improve operational efficiency and community services.
  • Plays a vital role in long-range planning, organizational development, and cross-functional problem-solving.
  • Represents the City in high-stakes decisions, public forums, and council sessions.
 
The Background That Fits
  • A master’s degree in public administration, business, or a related field is required.
  • Significant experience in public sector management, ideally with at least three years in local government leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams, capital projects, budgets, and interdepartmental initiatives.
  • Experience preparing and presenting to governing boards or councils.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex political and organizational dynamics with discretion and integrity.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
