WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Lead month end, quarter end, and year end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
- Manage general ledger operations while ensuring compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Support inventory accounting, inventory controls, and financial reporting within a manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Oversee sales tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and preparation of audit schedules supporting internal and external audits.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial planning initiatives.
- Evaluate complex accounting transactions and determine appropriate GAAP treatment while supporting private equity reporting requirements.
- Drive process improvements, strengthen accounting controls, and support future acquisitions and business integrations.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 6 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility in corporate accounting, public accounting, or a combination of both.
- Experience managing the full month end close process, including financial statement preparation and general ledger management.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, accruals, and internal controls.
- Public accounting experience with transition into private industry preferred.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Manufacturing and distribution industry experience preferred, including inventory accounting and cost accounting exposure.
- Experience supporting multi entity organizations, acquisitions, consolidations, or private equity environments is highly desirable.
- NetSuite experience is strongly preferred along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently, influence business decisions, and build relationships across the organization.
