AccruePartners Publishes Charlotte-based Accounting and Finance Trends Report
Charlotte, N.C.—Oct. 16, 2007—AccruePartners, a Charlotte, N.C.-based recruiting and staffing firm, today announced the release of a trends report delineating local employee and employer needs in the Charlotte accounting and finance fields.
The “Accounting Talent Trends in Charlotte” report offers information on employment trends, accounting success stories and competitive best practices in the Charlotte area that will aid companies in attracting and retaining employees to fill their accounting vacancies.
Finding an accountant, especially an accountant with the right credentials, education and personality to function at a specific company, is a challenge for Charlotte CFOs, controllers, senior accountants, HR professionals and business owners.
Charlotte is a high-growth business environment where local professionals have had limited employment data on the specific metro area to gain insight into the needs of their peers in this community. To develop an understanding of the employment marketplace, and more specifically accounting needs, rather than continue to rely on national and regional data, AccruePartners sponsored the first survey of local employers and employees in Q1, 2007. Nearly 300 employers and employees responded. In Q3, 2007, they interviewed Charlotte employers and senior accounting professionals. This report, “Accounting Talent Trends in Charlotte,” is based on that data.
“Accountants have been in high demand in Charlotte for several years, and at the year end the demand increases even more,” said Amy Noland, principal partner at AccruePartners. “We really wanted to share the best practices of some of our clients with the marketplace at large so we, the Charlotte business community, could develop a better understanding of the needs of employees and how to find and keep that top talent. This report offers employers and employees a snapshot of what’s happening right here, right now, and you can’t get this kind of comprehensive information anywhere else.”
These findings and others are discussed in the “Accounting Talent Trends in Charlotte” report. The key points uncovered in this survey are as follows:
- Accounting is the position with the second highest demand in Charlotte.
- Accountants will only become more difficult to find in 2008.
- Accountants are more commonly rejected for cultural and personality fit problems rather than credentials.
- A third-party staffing and recruiting firm can reduce the workload and time-to-fill for hiring new accountants.
